Laurent Voulzy

Paris born songwriter and artists Laurent Voulzy features on ESL052, Vive Le France.

Laurent led the English-pop-influenced Le Temple de Vénus, then joined Pascal Danel as guitarist in the late sixties and early seventies, before coming to prominence through his collaborations with singer-songwriter Alain Souchon.

Laurent’s hit singles in France and internationally include "Rockollection", "Paradoxal Système", "Le Soleil Donne", "Bopper en larmes", "Le coeur Grenadine", "Désir, Désir". He enjoyed particularly success in Belgium, Switzerland and Québec as well France, his songs featuring lyrics in various languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

Laurent has notably worked with British artist Kim Wilde since the 1980s, the partnership starting with Laurent’s 1986 single Les Nuits Sans Kim Wilde, which featured Kim Wilde on vocals and in the video.

Later work and success includes co-producing and co-composing Nolwenn Leroy's second album Histoires Naturelles. Further, his no. 1 album from 2006, La Septième Vague. Other collaborations include with Roger Daltrey (The Who) and The Corrs.
