Delia Derbyshire

Legendary pioneer, primarily known for her groundbreaking work in electronic music and with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Delia Derbyshire’s innovation can be heard on the Standard Library under the pseudonym Li De La Russe on ESL104.

She is responsible for the epic, landmark electronic realisation of Ron Grainer’s Doctor Who theme (Ron Grainer wanted Delia credited as co-composer but was denied by BBC bureaucracy) and composed a number of other BBC shows.

Her work from the 60s and 70s continues to influence and be heard, she is commonly referenced by contemporary acts including Chemical Brothers and Aphex Twin.
